The winner of the 2021 Build Abbott Motorcycle Rebuild was drawn at the Rapid City Rush hockey game on October 22. Ron Gates of Mitchell, SD was this year's winner! Ron graciously plans to donate a portion of the proceeds back to the Abbott House.

Returning in 2021 after a four-year hiatus, the Build Abbott Bike Rebuild offers Abbott House youth in Rapid City the opportunity to play a leading role in the reconstruction of a classic 2013 Harley Davidson Road King alongside our partners at Blackout Industries and Black Hills Harley Davidson.

Having rebuilt five damaged motorcycles between 2011 and 2017 in the Helping with Horsepower program, Abbott House reintroduced the Build Abbott Motorcycle Rebuild with open arms in 2021, thanks to the growing community of Bridges Therapeutic Foster Homes in the community of Rapid City. Over a three-month period, Rapid City’s Bridges by Abbott House foster children have the opportunity to gain hands-on, practical experience repairing and customizing a motorcycle, taking part in all enhancements to the motorcycle before it is auctioned off to raise money for Abbott House. Here, kids have the opportunity to not only feel a sense of belonging and ownership of the work they do, but improve their own well-being at the same time.
