Our Present

*

Today, Abbott House works tirelessly to provide therapeutic residential treatment, foster care, and independent living services to more and more youth across the state of South Dakota in pursuance of our mission to provide premier services to youth and their families.

Our ability to serve those in need continues to remain our top priority as we enrich the lives of those we serve with opportunities to excel in life and gain a better footing for the world around them. Now operating eight foster homes across Mitchell and Rapid City and our Residential Treatment facility in Mitchell, our work persists as we grow to meet the needs of those we serve with therapeutic programming and access to the utmost tailored services. In short, our work to be champions for those we serve is never done.

The Impact of Abbott House Today:

The impact of Abbott House’s work is unquestionable and remains a top priority to us as we work to prepare our youth to succeed in the world beyond our walls. In this, we find great purpose recognizing our work has the ability to transform the lives of those we serve. No matter the circumstances that have brought a child to our care, we are devoted to providing support, love, and compassion to all. Everybody deserves someone in their court, championing for their future success – to which we’re grateful to have the opportunity to be “that someone”.

  • Nearly 150 youth served in FY2020
  • Eight Bridges Therapeutic Foster Homes
  • Over $400,000 raised for our youth in 2020

Annual Reports

“I went to Abbott house when i was 13 years old, it was a time when I hated everyone especially myself. I am now 28 as of this past July and I'll never forget the people I met and some of the friends I made while I was there. The staff at Abbott House, when I was there, were exceptional people and I will never forget them. They helped me in so many ways and I hope that they continue to help many more children for many more years to come.”

- Shani I.S., Abbott House alum

To meet the needs of those we serve and grow our operations to serve more youth in need, Abbott House is on a mission to continue raising funds needed to grow our resource pool. With these resources and an unwavering conviction for helping our youth, Abbott House is growing more than ever before.
